I got error:

"Writing BOOT"

"E: no space left on device

Error writing BOOT

failure at line 415.

installation aborted"

I flashed back to r21 and it worked.

Do I just need more space on the phone memory?

Or something else?

I tried deleting some apps and I have over 34MB of free space and it still didn't work.

MD5 was good.

Using amon-ra 1.7.0.1

Thanks.

I dont suppose we could get trackball wake included as well? Everything with the install went swimmingly, but I miss it already!

I'll be issuing a new MCR next week based on FRG83... Including trackball wake!

As the kernel wasn't updated, you should be fine!

Hey Paul,

Will that be the whole kitchen configurator deal where you can choose which options you want? Looking forward to a FRG83 that has apps2ext support.

Thanks

I received the same error as well:

Writing BOOT

E: no space left on device

Error writing BOOT

failure at line 415.

installation aborted

After a restart I'm at:

Android version: 2.2.1

Baseband version: 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7

Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-27240-gbca5320 android-build@apa26 #1

Build number: FRG83

Strange. I guess that means it updated just fine?

Received a similar error message when using the latest update:

Rooted / deodexed / busybox / trackball alert with radio update zip download (recommended)

Writing BOOT

E: no space left on device

Error writing BOOT

failure at line 415.

write_raw_image PACKAGE:boot.img Boot:

installation aborted

It seems like 1/3rd of the boot.img file is garbage data and that's why it won't fit. Looking at a couple of other ROMs they don't seem to have this, weird.

Links updated, apologies!

Flashed the update, rebooted , got the android-yellow-arrow-box icon, auto booted into recovery , got formatting cache.

rebooted again and now I'm stucked at the colored X icon (non-animated).

Update: Wiped cache and dalvik cache , rebooted, still didn't work. Wiped cache & dalvik-cache, rebooted, worked.

Thanks Paul :)

Its important to wipe the cache?, What its for?. When I change from ROM I only do a wipe/factory no cache wipe.
