G2 Still on 1.5 T-Mobile

My friend got a G2 (Hero) over a year ago and at the time I was not able to root it, so we left it.

Now, I just found out he's still on 1.5! We're looking through the menu's and can't find 'Software update'... so how does he receive the 2.1 update OTA?

You mean the official ROM? You need HTC Sync and the ROM Update Utility (RUU).

RUU file --> www.htc.com (choose your country) - Support - Choose your phone (Hero). You will find a link to ROM Upgrade for HTC Hero. Follow the instructions.
