How the script works :

It copies the contents of the selected folders to the sd ext2 partition . It does not removes the copied files from the phone , because in the case of sd failure or sd removal the phone will be able to bootup. The removal process removes the files and directories needed to app2sd operate normally , but leaves the ext2 untouched.

To use it you need to turn on the USB Debugging mode on the phone .Create the ext2 if not exists .The first partitition should be FAT if your card is smaller than 4GB and should be FAT32 if bigger than 4 GB. The second partition should be ext2. Both partition must be primary.

Dont forget to restart the phone and turn off mass storage mode after creation of the ext2.Download the zip file , extract it and run autorootapp2sd.bat on your pc.

You can use app2sd even if your phone is not rooted.

The attached pdf contains the guide how to create the ext2.

MOD:

The script has the possibilities to turn on root. The root and unroot function is the same as 1 click root .

MOD2:

There was abug in the root function , a bad version of superuser.apk was included . Now it is replaced.

:P :D working smooth. thanks!

It's a real shame that there's nowhere to give thanks on here, except in a post!

If there was a button, under the post, to give thanks, then the OP would have loads!!!

Thanks !

Now the first post was modified , the program contains 1 click root too.

App2sd will work even if you not root your phone and will turn off temporary if there is no sd or ext2 mount failure .

Check the partition on your sd. The first partitition should be FAT if your card is smaller than 4GB and should be FAT32 if bigger than 4 GB. The second partition should be ext2. Both partition must be primary.

The card is not showing on there m8

Put the sd to a card reader and then start the partition wizard.

Or turn on mass storage mode on the phone and then start the partition wizard.

I don't have a card reader m8 and mass storage is on, still says preparing sd card, checking for errors. I followed the guide and formatted on fat32 but it is only a 2gig sd card and you have put fat for that, could that be the problem?

Turn off mass storage mode , unmount the sd from the settings and format it in the phone . This will erase everything from the sd including the ext2. Then after reboot , create the ext2 again , turn off mass storage mode , restart the phone and apply app2sd.

What about app-private? It's working?

app-private is not copied , I checked it on my phone and it is empty . I do not have idea what programs are using it .Of course it is possible to move it to the sd , but it was left out in this version.

Does app2sd install apps automatically to partition or does it give you a choice where to install?

If app2sd is on then apps will be installed to the ext2 partition.

Is apps2sd accessible in the apps list as i dont have it there but seem to have the partition

No this is not an application which is installed to the phone. It modifies system settings to mount the selected folders from the sd card's ext2 partition. If you see /data/app and the other selected folders mounted in the check screen then it is working.
