I hope I am not treading on too many toes by making it. - I Will do my best to keep it up to date / Accurate

List of Known Fixes / Workrounds

These have mostly been gathered from the main Thread
http://android.modac...al-froyo-build/

Default screen density (LCD density) is set to 160

This is only a BUG if you don't like it - try it first.
You can just change the build.prop files in /System in the ZIP BEFORE you install the ROM.
If you have already installed you have 2 choices

  • Use ADB to Change the File
  • Install Superuser and use a Market APP
ADB Pull / Push
  • adb pull /system/build.prop
  • Edit the build.prop file value ro.sf.lcd_density=160 to 240
  • adb remount
  • adb push build.prop /system/build.prop
Use an APP to do it

The Dialer app doesn't sleep properly and consumes a fair amount of Battery

(see 'settings->about phone->battery use) to see the problem

  • Go into Settings
  • Go into Sound
  • UNCHECK: Turn to mute

Calender App force Closes

Workround HACK for Calendar

Ok you have to re-apply it each time you re-boot.

  • Stop the Calendar Sync in Accounts (uncheck it)
  • In Manage Applications, delete cache and force stop all THREE Calender Entries
  • Open The Calendar from your APP Drawer
  • The APP force closes - leave it there for about 5 seconds (you will see it load in the background) then close it
  • Re-open the Calendar APP - It opens fine (DONT SCROLL AT ALL)
  • Now RE-Enable Calendar SYNC in Accounts
  • WAIT - until it syncs
You can now Add any widgets etc.

Superuser does not work from clean install

There is an APK for this

Info here
http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=747598
http://blog.23corner...iversalandroot/
http://blog.23corner...eta-5/#more-407

Download
http://bit.ly/9wAKC5

OR you can do it manually with
adb shell chmod 04755 /system/bin/su

Some users cannot download from Market

Logging into the TALK application (google talk) fixes this.
Also trying it before you go on Wifi can help

Windows ADB needs hack .inf file for USB Drivers

DeviceIDs changed for ADB Windows-Drivers in this build.

tocixxx hacked the .inf file for this release.

Use adb.exe supplied in this rar
Hacked USB Drivers - Win7 - http://netload.in/da..._driver.rar.htm

64bit user may need to hack a bit more

1. Open 'android_winusb.inf' with notepad
2. Go to the first section with 'Orange San Francisco 2.2'
3. Delete the leading ';' on the two lines (second and third line following 'Orange San Francisco 2.2')
4. Go to the second section with 'Orange San Francisco 2.2'
5. Delete the leading ';' on the three lines (second, third, and fourth line following this 'Orange San Francisco 2.2')
6. Save the file

When prompted for ZTE driver, point to this directory and you should be good

Keyboard does not vibrate

The HTC IMI Keyboard - works with 2.2 - get it here
http://android.modac...t...st&id=65212

Tiny dialer in 160 density mode

The lock screen is fine on mine, but dialer looks small. IF you like the rest then just use "Dialer one" from the app store as it scales fine.

For other apps that dont go full screen, get "Spare Parts" from the Market and untick compatability mode.

Only 2 Locales can be used en_US and zn_CN

Only 2 Locales can be used en_US and zn_CN.
They are defined in /system/etc/customize/default.xml

Delete this file
reboot
and you can choose any locale you want to.

Bluetooth Start-up not working

There is a problem in the setup of the Bluetooth profiles on startup, but you can fix it very easy

type following commands

adb shell
cd /system/etc/bluetooth
chmod 644 *
reboot

Phone Sound goes on MUTE when upside down

This can be turned off: Settings > Sounds > untick "Turn to mute".

Looking good.

has anyone tried the stock dialer to c if it fixes the battery drain issue?

AGPS is fixable. someone posted a fix in the other thread.

update the system\etc\gps.conf' file to read:

XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin

I tried that and I was permanently in Leeds - so I reverted and it fixed it.

Anyone else confirm that it does/doesn't work - Ill update if so.

Nice post. I gave up on 2.2 after seeing a few bugs mentioned so it's nice to see a list of them all on one page with possible solutions :P This is definetly work if it's kept to to date.

This one should be integrated with lcd density, icon, a-gps, locale, superuser, busybox, deskclock and calculator fixes.

Not tested, because I don't have phone ATM.

Nice : This thread is to guide users of Alpha 1 - These MAY work - However I am reluctant to point users at Zips from upload sites as the main ROM - especially without CRC's

I've just tried this too, and the keyboard never appears when I tap on a text entry field.

I can get into the settings menu for it just fine, and it appears in the "input method" menu though...
