Slightly offtopic question: Is it possible to delete stuff I don't want (like Sims 3 which doesn't work anyway and some other apps that apparently came with 2.1)? Since they're loaded into the phone's memory I can't delete them normally...

Oh by the way, I put everything back to the way it was before I installed apps2sd. Now it's working fine again

You can do that with Rooted phone and some app (Titanium Backup/Root explorer/ASTRO etc...)

What are the benefits of each ROM? I will be getting two GT540's for my sister-in-laws. They will be from Tesco, so presumably locked to Tesco Mobile. They will want to put their O2 sim card in it, but I think Tesco Mobile use O2s network anyway so their existing sim cards should work just fine.
Where did all these 2.1 ROMs come from? Why can't we just do OTA updates if all there companies have released their Eclair ROMs?

Ofcourse you can, but it dosnt work all the time - the normal way. So its more fun to do it this way.

thank's for sharing ... everything is cool after flashing but i have one problem , after flashing my GT540 WIFI is not connecting .. so if any1 facing the same problem pls tell me ..

there is anyway to fix it ??

Hi guys,

I'm sorry, I'm kinda new to this things..Just bought my first smartphone & want to clear things up before doing it.. I do have some questions & hopefully someone can answer it. ..

1. I've read the tutorial & noticed that usb port at the back of the pc is strongly recommended to be used but if im using a laptop, can i use any usb ports then?
2. I'm from the Philippines, can I still update the my phone?.. if it's possible then what would be the best ROM for me?

East or West India is the best   ... tried the other 2.1 ROM's and I feel the indian version v20c feels much faster & has fewer default apps

Sorry, but i dont give support with Apps2SD, since i didnt wrote that guide and i never used apps2sd by myself. Ill better wait for 2.2 then use it in a hacky way.
