Titanium Backup can now remove applications using the recovery exploit

Titanium Backup now supports remove applications from NAND/eMMC locked system partitions via my recovery exploit! :)

It's included in the free version from the Android Market, if you like it please consider supporting the paid version. :) If you really like it, please consider signing up to a MoDaCo Ad Free or MoDaCo Plus account too (MoDaCo Plus includes a Titanium Backup Pro license!)

I posted some pics of the process in action on my G2 below! :(

Cool, well done guys :-)

Would be great if it could also do a 'disable' (non perm but survives reboot) using the method you posted earlier Paul?

You can freeze the system app in TitaniumBackup, it should do the job :-)

If you do this (and I did), you risk not being able to apply the next OTA.

I know. It seems like a terrible idea to add this to a program... When it could endanger the updatability of anyone who uses it.

Press 'Backup / Restore' to list apps. Press 'Problems' to get busybox first. Press hold the app to pop up the option.

Paul, a question: when I force remove an app, it stays in the list (in the end, grey, strikethrough). Does this mean it is now also physically removed? If not, what else should I do?

Thanks a million.

Paul,

Your post above says "(MoDaCo Plus includes a Titanium Backup Pro license!)"

I have a MoDaCo Plus license and download an online bake for the LG Optimus 2x, which works well and I notice the version of Titanium backup is the Free version.

Where do I find the Titanium Backup Pro license to change to the full version ? I'm sure its around somewhere, and I'm probably missing the obvious, but I can't find any license or any info on how to obtain it.

Thanks

Neil

Rooted my LG Optimus ONE

Installed Titanium Backup * root

Tried to uninstall some system apps (see: youtube) and the recovery exploit mode was the only available, so i said yes.

My phone rebooted and FORMATTED himself.

Now i have just a stock phone, my ALL apps are GONE and my preferences too.

So what? :(

After deleting an app using this option, my phone (Xiaomi Mi3 Kitkat 4.4.4) is stuck in recovery mode n can't boot into fastboot or system! What should I do now? Or, how to recover my phone?
