Guest Paul
Titanium Backup now supports remove applications from NAND/eMMC locked system partitions via my recovery exploit! :) It's included in the free version from the Android Market, if you like it please consider supporting the paid version. :) If you really like it, please consider signing up to a MoDaCo Ad Free or MoDaCo Plus account too (MoDaCo Plus includes a Titanium Backup Pro license!) I posted some pics of the process in action on my G2 below! :( P

Guest Paul
That looks like a problem. Press problems. :) The VISIONary Busybox doesn't seem to like TB (I'm going to investigate why). P

Guest mamoulian
Cool, well done guys :-) Would be great if it could also do a 'disable' (non perm but survives reboot) using the method you posted earlier Paul?
Guest Keramidas
Cool, well done guys :-) Would be great if it could also do a 'disable' (non perm but survives reboot) using the method you posted earlier Paul? You can freeze the system app in TitaniumBackup, it should do the job :-)
Guest IBeMad
SOMEONE HALP LOL What should people do if there's another OTA in the future??? D:
Guest Brownshoe
If you do this (and I did), you risk not being able to apply the next OTA.
Guest IBeMad
If you do this (and I did), you risk not being able to apply the next OTA. I know. It seems like a terrible idea to add this to a program... When it could endanger the updatability of anyone who uses it.
Guest BUGabundo
Would be great if it could also do a 'disable' (non perm but survives reboot) using the method you posted earlier Paul? adb shell pm list packages -f | sort to get a list of packages pm disable PACKAGE to disable even on boot, the apps you dont want. see http://android-pt.com/desactivar-apps for a larger example

Guest XpressMe
what is different between uninstall an app (press shortly the app and select uninstall) and remove via recovery exploit (press long on the app) ?? i have the desire hd with cyanogenmod and can select both on every app ^^ thanks
Guest judzz
Press 'Backup / Restore' to list apps. Press 'Problems' to get busybox first. Press hold the app to pop up the option. P Paul, a question: when I force remove an app, it stays in the list (in the end, grey, strikethrough). Does this mean it is now also physically removed? If not, what else should I do? Thanks a million.
Guest neilcperks
Paul, Your post above says "(MoDaCo Plus includes a Titanium Backup Pro license!)" I have a MoDaCo Plus license and download an online bake for the LG Optimus 2x, which works well and I notice the version of Titanium backup is the Free version. Where do I find the Titanium Backup Pro license to change to the full version ? I'm sure its around somewhere, and I'm probably missing the obvious, but I can't find any license or any info on how to obtain it. Thanks Neil

My phone rebooted and FORMATTED himself. Now i have just a stock phone, my ALL apps are GONE and my preferences too. So what? :(
Guest Anurag Mittal
After deleting an app using this option, my phone (Xiaomi Mi3 Kitkat 4.4.4) is stuck in recovery mode n can't boot into fastboot or system! What should I do now? Or, how to recover my phone?
Guest Keramidas
Guys, this recovery exploit was only for a few specific phones, mostly back in 2010. Don't use it randomly!
