My Huawei U8220 is not starting after I applied superboot 1.5 on it. Whenever I try to turn it on, it just stops on the android logo and nothing happens.
The build date was Apr 25 2010 so I supposed It has the December update applied. And it has Android 1.5.

It stops on this part:
Attached File  u8220.JPG   157.19K   14 downloads

It's not a T-Mobile phone but I dont think thats the case.

I dont have a backup or anything, and whenever I try to flash it using zip form sd card it says that:

Oppening update package...
Verifying update package...
Formating SYSTEM:...
E:Can't format SYSTEM:
E:Failure at line 3:
format SYSTEM:

Instalation aborted

I searched the forum but I didn't found anything exept for one topic with the same problome as mine, but he had android 2.1 and that was his problome. but my phone had 1.5 on it.

Any ideas on how to fix that?

The problem is that you don't have the december update installed on your Pulse. The december update's build date is november 2009 I think. As the builddate of your ROM is april 2010 you pretty sure have either a 2.1 or any other 1.5 ROM installed. Anyway, you'll have to reflash your phone with the original ROM using the dload update. You'll find all information on how to do this in the stickies.

Whenever I try to upgrade to ANYTHING using the dload update, it says that "Update failed".

I suggest you read the Ultimate Pulse Owners Guide and see if you can find the help you need there: http://android.modac...e-owners-guide/
Also, maybe it is nothing more than they way you describe things, but you need to press and hold in the menu and endcall buttons, and then press the power button. Keep holding in the menu and endcall buttons until you see the Recovery screen. Then you can release those buttons.
Finally, can you boot into "fastboot" mode? You do that by holding in the volumedown and endcall buttons while pressing the power button. The fastboot screen look like a few lines of white text on a blue background.

Want a quicker answer?
  • Use the search function in the right hand column to search this forum or a particular thread.
  • Click on this link to go to "The Ultimate Pulse Owners Guide" and find your answer there.
  • Rom installation problems? Try this link.
(If you aren't willing to do any of that, don't be surprised if you receive a "harsh" answer from someone.)
