Just ordered one of these little oddities. However does anyone think it will ever get any more app support? For £49 its not bad just as a watch, but im not sure i trust SE to develop for it any further.

I ordered the Modaco special edition from SuperETrader, was dispatched on the 9th but it was never delivered.

Emailed them yesterday and it turns out Royal Mail managed to lose it in transit :/

Mailing me a new one on Friday as they're currently out of stock!

I'm tenmpted. I'm using a rooted Desire 2.2. Are these worth it to play with? Don't mind a few niggles but music playback control would be particularly useful.

Seems from XDA threads that it doesn't work with most Desire ROMs although one guy reported DeFrost (non-Sense) ROM worked OK with music playback. HTC use a different media player I guess...Really want to order one of these but it does sound too buggy at present. Anyone convince me otherwise?

If and when it works well it will be cool. So far ive had plenty of !!OMG!! responses from people at work. It just needs to be more stable and for the battery to last longer. It claims 96hrs, but 8 to 12 is more like it.

I have put in a complaint to SE customer services, im waiting now for a response.

Good luck. I did that. Their response: unit must be faulty; we suggest you return it to the point of purchase.

I.e. Not "Sorry we didn't test it. We'll fix the software asap."

I've emailed SuperETrader about returning it.

I am of exactly the same opinion. IF the battery would last all day and IF the bluetooth would stay connected it would be an excellent gadget. Personally I don't think it is too big to be uncool, a tad thinner would be better but when I first saw it in its box I was surprised how small it actually is. The screen is fine and, if the issues could be ironed out, I would be more than happy to wear it all day as a wrist watch - that was the idea all along.

I can't see how SE can claim 4 days of battery usage. Maybe if it was not connected to a phone at all and you only switched on the screen a few times a day to check the time but that is hardly the use people want from it. I am hoping there is a bluetooth bug that is causing the device to transmit data too much or prevent it going into some low power standby mode or something.

I am really hoping for a firmware update if that is possible - I haven't seen anything mentioned about such a facility - but if there isn't then I am stuffed because it certainly isn't going to get much use as it is now!

It is good that it uses the standard for attaching watch straps - I am waiting for a help for heroes strap to arrive and I think I will put that on it.

Unplugged it today at 0745, it died at 1430. Thats absolutely stupid. It was connected all day without drops though, so small victories.. Only thing is my Streak is now at 15% battery itself, so a full day of connection seems unlikely anyway you look at it (i am using if for tethering as well though).

It would be best if you could request an update from the Liveview itself rather than having auto-updates, that would save power and make information on it more relevant.

I have also emailed SE customer services - not to complain as such - I just asked them to explain how I can prevent it from disconnecting all the time. This was the automatic response I got:-

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Center. Your question has been registered and the reference number is nnnnnnnnn.

Please do not respond to this mail since it will not be delivered to any recipient.

For future emails concerning this case please include the following line in the message subject field:

What about a visit at www.sonyericsson.com ?

Does your Sony Ericsson mobile phone have the latest software?

Check and update now using the Sony Ericsson Update Service on

http://www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice

So I guess they are blaming the handset! I did tell them I am using a Nexus1 and not a Sony Ericsson phone.
