Internet explorer: possible to save password?

Hello there!
Do you know if it is possible to save passwords in internet explorer?
It is one of the most useful functions in Opera, but I think IE does not have it...
I have the version pre-installed in Windows Mobile 6.5, because I haven't found a further version (IE 7 looks to me to be only part of Windows Phone 7 operating system...)

possible if IE update with that feature or someone has created mod plugin for IE winmo.
