Sony Ericsson LiveView - what apps would YOU like to see on it?

I'd just like to understand why the BT connection drops at least once an hour before I send it back B) Is it LiveView device, the app, or the phone (Wildfire)?

Two things will make it a useful gadget - Email notifications and the music player functionality working.

IMHO it's because of crap coding, so it's a software fault.

Do we know if the OS inside the liveview is Android? Can/will it be hacked? I sure hope so becasue it is disapointing ATM.

On the subject of music control - that is one area where it performs really well on my Nexus1, both through wired headphones and also when my phone is connected to my A2DP car stereo via bluetooth (yes, my phone will connect to both the liveview and the car stereo at the same time). It will adjust volume, skip tracks backwards and forwards and pause/start a track.

The battery usage (in the device not my phone) is my major problem - 6 hours so far is the max! That is not good!

I'd just like to see the music controls work on the DHD (with maybe album covers shown), proper stability and a permanent connection that doesn't drop so frequently.

Then I'll be happy. B)

I'm running it alongside my Nexus One and all apps and controls work fine. The main issues I have are what everybody else has noted. Random disconnections and max 6-7 hours battery life. I've turned off Twitter, facebook and rss as I was maxing 4 hours with them on.....thought it was up to 4 days (is that achievable by only turning on once a day)

Dont forget to contact SE about your problems, the more the better!

For UK:

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/common/con...cc=gb&lc=sv

I'm having big problems using it with my Desire...

What's the point? They'll only say that non-SE phones aren't really supported anyway. Call me cynical but I'm fed up with big companies and their lack of after-sales care these days.

Oh well, gone and reported the faults on the site you linked to (even asked for them to release the source code). Let's all do the same then, see if they really give a stuff.

I'm personally expecting either a non-commital response about how it sounds faulty and I should return it or just nothing at all.

We'll see.

Did you get a Sony Ericsson LiveView (like me)?

What apps would YOU like to see on it! B)

P

Well, before I think about any plug-ins I'd like to see the power-on clock screen changed (I realise that is firmware and not plug-in territory) and on a very basic level I want the day of the week displayed. Why do we need to know what year it is??

A preference setting ought to also allow us to use an analog clock face on that screen.
