Welcome to 'Paul's App of the Day', where I pick one of my favourite apps as featured app of the day! Today's app is...

PowerTutor

What they say

Quote

PowerTutor is a diagnostic tool for analyzing system and app power usage.

The app runs on most Android phones though is designed to give accurate numbers on the G1, G2, and Nexus One phones. It runs in the background and logs data on power utilization for each app. The info is summarized in an intuitive user interface.
What we say

Unimpressed by the battery life on your device? Want to see exactly where the power goes? Install PowerTutor and get down to some real analysis! Probably one not to keep installed all the time tho...

Suggested improvements for the next version

Just a few optimisations, more configurability and a little more polish and it'd be even better!

Very nice! Gives you a real idea of what exactly is using up the power and puts to bed various myths of usage.
