I thought we'd sorted it.......but nah.

Hook it up to your PC via USB and stick it in DFU mode (from off, hold both the hardware buttons until the USB logo and "DFU" appear on screen). Let it try and find drivers (it won't) and that's it. Hold the power button for about 10 secs until it shuts down and unplug again.

I did this after reading how rovex said it seemed to have sorted his problems out and lo and behold, I haven't had a dropped connection or interruption in service for about an hour since doing this and it would have dropped numerous times by now if I hadn't.

Still not getting any Facebook updates mind but music controls (stock android music app), Twitter updates, RSS feeds and texts are all coming through just fine.

Does data sync really have to be on to get all this stuff pushed through? It's just really caning the battery on both devices.

Once again, thanks go to Rovex for finding this out but I thought I'd better create a new thread to inform the masses or they might have missed his post.

Cheers dude....... B)

Edit: After turning the device off the problems all came flooding back again upon restarting so this isn't a fix at all but it's strange how it worked after the DFU insertion until reboot.

Hopefully that means something to someone.

Rovex....hope you're having better luck with yours.

The battery is much better for me now as well. 11 hours nearly and its dropped one bar, compared to completely flat in 5h45m yesterday. Seems weird, but whatever the reason, it works!

Edited the initial post to reflect that the successful running only lasted until I rebooted.

How weird is that?

Anyway, nothing to see here......move along.......... B)

Just the LV unit. As soon as I powered it back on it was straight into the connecting mode animation again (dotted lines between phone and LV icon) and pressing the right button just switched between that and the time (being 0:00). I even tried turning it off again and re-pairing it from scratch (unpaired on phone) but nothing...not a sausage....nada.

It was fun while it lasted but I'm back to waiting for Sony Ericsson or a clever developer/programmer to sort it for me like, I dare say, most owners of the device.

It seems you've been lucky dude and good for you but my joy was short-lived......... B)

Mine is still working this morning. The battery hasnt changed overnight, it looks like it might actually last 3 days. Its not working 100% perfectly, but it is re-connecting when it needs to, after a few seconds.

Is this with the Streak or Desire?

This seemed to work for around an hour (or I imagined it). Gave up though and have asked for returns authorisation from retailer. Shame really. Have had 2 mails from SonyEricsson saying they're forwarding my comments to the right people - LiveView2 might be worth waiting for!

Im using mine now with my Desire. Its certianly more flaky than it was with the streak, but its still working reasonably. The battery is still holding out ok. It lasted about 31hrs continuous on one charge since it sorted itself. LiveWare is definitely messing things up somewhat, its much worse with it installed.
