Connection Dropping on G2

I just received my LiveView today and I seem to be having some trouble with it. I read through a few posts and it seems to be a common issue on the Dell Streak, but I'm using a G2.

The problem is, my LiveView keeps lossing connection to my phone. I tried the "Plug it into a PC and boot to USB DFU" thing and that hasn't helped at all.

I've uninstalled the LiveView and LiveWare apps and reinstalled them.

I've done a reset of the LiveView (holding power button for 15 seconds).

I've removed the pairing and re-paired it to my phone.

Any ideas?

Its common on all devices, it basically has sucky aoftware. We are waiting for SE to sort it out, but your guess is as good as mine as to when that will be.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully SE will get this taken care of asap.

I haven't had a whole lot of time with my LiveView yet to do much testing (just received it about 12 hours ago), but it seems like it happens a lot more in my home then it does while I'm not here. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with competing wireless signals? In my home I have a wireless router with several clients connected and a bluetooth mouse on my PC.

I'm going to email SE about the issues. I'm sure a lot of people already have, but the more the better! maybe it'll push them to fix it faster.

EDIT: Also, even when the LiveView is connected to my phone, the LiveWare app says there are no smart accessories connected. Is that normal? Everything still works fine when it has a connection.

Realistically, you've got 4 options:

- put up with it (it's conceivably useful if you want to know the time around midnight each night)

- wait for SE to release an update to resolve (bear in mind their track record on software updates)

- wait for someone else to release some software to make it work

- send it back

liveware app says you have no smart accesories because yu have installed it incorrectly. Remove liveview and follow the guide on page 12of the user guide. Livewire will then find your device and then it will link to the liveview software to downlod and install.

I followed all the instructions and the LiveWare app still does not detect any "smart accessories".

However, all of the steps in the user guide do NOT work as stated on my G2.

It says in the User Guide to install LiveWare FIRST. I did that.

Then it says to turn on the LiveView device in Pairing mode. I did that.

It says NOTHING about going into the phones bluetooth settings and clicking Scan for Devices (which is what I had to do to find the LiveView).

After pairing it says you will see a popup asking to install recommended software for the device. THIS part never happens. I waited and waited, nothing poped up. So I went to the market and downloaded the LiveView app. Now the LiveView device and LiveView app work just fine (when it's actually connected, but that's a different issue). The LiveWare app still says no smart accessories.
