Thats a Gorillapod, they are made as camera tripods that have flexible legs.
Fantastic idea for a different use.
Ok I just double checked Joby actually sell a gorillapod specifically made for holding a iphlump 3gs or other smartphones. The weight of the n700 may be a little too much however so I'm going for the gorillapod tripod it holds a lot more weight.
