Hi,

does anyone know if the Vega supports wifi ad hoc mode, for tethering it to a Nokia phone with Joiku to get mobile Internet? I used to have an Archos which annoying didn't, and my Googling so far seems to indicate stock Android might not support it either... (I found some stuff about Android hacks to make it work).

Just another thing to consider before I decide to buy a Vega or not!

Cheers all

The Vega does not have a mobile/3g internet connection (next model is expected to have this) so wifi tethering is pointless.

That's not what they're asking, they want to know if you can tether the Vega _to_ a device that has 3G, and the answer is yes if the device presents itself as an infrastructure device (Like my Nexus one does) if your Nokia can only do ad-hoc you may be out of luck though

Ok. Then the answer is yes as any device that does 'tethering' just acts as a wifi access point and the Vega connects to wifi access points. I have tethered my Vega via wifi to my HTC Desire running Android 2.2 and it works fine.

Wow thanks guys!

I feel like buying a Vega just cos of the quality and"liveliness" of community support around it (well, and the fact it seems to be a great bit of kit...!)

Cheers
