You all could just get the HD ROM on XDA and remove what you dont want - thats what I've done...

Is it a pain to set up? Is there still messing about with partitions and whatnot?

How do you find it now EddyOS, having lived with this ROM for a while?

Right, not used it in a while due to the camera (and me getting bored of being rooted) so have flashed it again today. To get it working I:

1. Downgraded to Android 2.1 to make sure unrEVOked worked properly (it did work in 2.29.405.2 but wanted to make sure)

2. Rooted the Desire and now have AmonRA flashed. Already had 1GB EXT3 partition on my SD card from last time using the ROM

3. Downloaded, edited and re-zipped the HD ROM

4. Flashed

All this took around an hour give or take 10 mins, but I know what I wanted to remove from the ROM before downloading it

First impressions are ROM running as well as before but now have camera - all in all a big thumbs up!!! :S

Everything is working very well here with the RCMixHD v0.12 1.32.405.6 rom, it might just be me however this appears to be much faster than normal sense roms for the Desire :P

Also just a question, is it possible to just have a white background for all the ongoing tasks screen and remove the RCMIX HD logo? As can be seen here: img339.imageshack.us/img339/8020/snap20101130180614.png

I did ask that in the rom thread on XDA, however I have a feeling my question will just get lost in all the replies there.

I have been using this rom for a while , as I had nothing but problems with the R9. The rom is very good, it does remind me of Paul's roms in the fact that it is very fast and stable. Now with the camera fix though, the battery doesn't even last 8 hrs. If Paul is going to do the R10 with HD, you know your going to get the best rom, that is until I get the Desire HD. For that reason I am in.

i wonder if there is any possibilty to migrate to hd framework (including the hd libs i suppose), and keep

- the customized kernel including the modules (as in not flashing a new boot image)

- powersaving scripts (governors, undervolt etc) and a2sd+ as is

- the apps-data on data (no wipe of /data)

- keep busybox and /system/bin

and than i'm waiting for a hd rom that doesn't have "alice in wonderland" ao in /system/etc, i don't get it

To be honest I can't see Paul doing a modaco rom for a while. There have hardly been any updates for a long time.

Be patient with him he is currently doing a rom for the San Francisco guys. Were stuck on 2.1 over there!

Why wait on Paul? There are already HD ROMs that, chances are, will end up more advanced than Paul's MCR version (no offence, Paul!!)

If you're that desperate go try the one on XDA
