Today I learnt that the switch on top of the Vega locks the screen orientation. Should have RTFM. Now I know. Silly me.

Its supposed to lock the screen. However it doesn't work very well it seems to only do it sometimes and when it works seems to be a random process. It should work by disabling the accelerometer when in the locked position but the accelerometer clearly is still enabled so most apps seem to decide on their own to ignore the orientation lock.
