Anyone else seeing this. If you're on your home page (the one that shows your friends statuses/posts etc) and you point at the are you'd type in your status, no keyboard comes up. Every other box on the page comes up with the keyboard, just not that one...

Yup the Android browser isn't a fan of Facebook. Either use the mobile site or head over to the market and get the Facebook app.

I just used a different browser. It also doesn't like to scroll down some webpages which in my case was gmail which was a biggy since its my main email account. So I just tried a different browser and I will hope it will get fixed in the next update which it probably will.

So far Ive tried Opera Mobile which is what I use on my phone and mostly on my PC, Firefox 4 which is also good and im testing the beta of it on my PC. At the moment Im currently trying out Dolphin HD which some of the people on here recommended so far it seems to be a perfect blend of Opera, Firefox and the default browser.

Does it play flash OK?

Yeah it does, opera has some trouble with flash if you mess with the user string to spoof your OS and firefox usually works well enough from what I have seen but it has the same user string problems. I would shop around the browsers find the one that fits best. There are advantages to Opera and firefox especially if you use them on your desktop, for example opera has been able to sync between systems so your bookmarks and start page carry over. Firefox does it as well but Opera has done it for longer but thats pretty normal as Opera tends to get new features first that then make it on to firefox later.

Why? That seems a really strange thing to say....

Why go to all the hassle of opening the facebook webpage when there a perfectly good App for it ... Sorry I just dont see the point.

It's like going to gmail webpage instead of using the gmail app ... pointless, that's the whole point of having these apps so you don't have to navigate a webpage.

I see it as strange to go to the website myself.

On Android phones, holding down the menu button for 3 seconds shows/hides the keyboard, no matter what is selected, allowing you to enter text where Android thinks you shouldn't need to.

It should work on the Vega too?

I totally agree. Why get all the guff that comes with the heavy use of javascript on the FB site when you can have all the info, photos, profiles etc... in a nice full screen app?

Because the facebook app is designed for small screens, this screen is much larger and the facebook page displays much nicer in a browser ;) Additionally, the facebook app doesn't display the full range of things the main page displays.

Unless I'm using the wrong facebook for Android (the one I'm using was released by facebook...)

Don't have any problems with using it on the Vega myself ... You say its designed for a small screen ... I wouldn't say that .. It scales to whatever screen size you running pretty well , the only issue I can see is that the main screen doesn't currently run in landscape.

Also the widget is handy too ..

If your more comfortable using the webpage, then so be it don't let us tell u otherwise mate.

I had that too. If you click in one of the other text boxes that pops a keyboard then the one you want to type in the keyboard is retained
