I successfully built my own kernel to use with Paul's alpha 5 with the guide, thanks very much!
For the CIFS, is the needed config change on github? I built last night and don't have the module. If not, could you point me at what I need to change to get it?

Edit: Oops, I didn't see addon_cifs_smb_config, trying now! However, a "standard" .config does seem to be missing now.
