New Galaxy S - Rooting Trouble

I'm trying to root my friends new Sammy Galaxy S, but no matter what method I try I can't get it to root. "Flash in recovery" images don't work, SuperOneClick hangs at chmod rageagainstthecage. Running Ubuntu 10.10 with Mono and the Galaxy has Baseband Version: I9000UGJL2 and Build Number FROYO.UGJL2.

I'm out of ideas. =\
