will someone help me with odin3 - captivate

I followed xda instructions... I plug my phone in, I open odin3(all fields are blank) enter recovery mode(clockworkmod v2.5.1.2) and press start.  odin says succeed0/failed0 and that is it... my phone will not make it past the boot screen or recovery.  I get a robotic voice that says data is partitioned system is not available... so I'm have a pretty bad day.


please help

you must enter DOWNLOAD MODE, not recovery, press volume up+volume down and then connect the phone to the pc
