Noticed this last night - MCR11 running, the battery was insanely hot - over 50 degrees, far hotter than normally (even with Angry Birds playing)...

Is this a sign that the battery is on its last legs?  

Has anyone else noticed it?

Any ideas?

I had something like that some days ago, too.

my alarm app was the cause I think - cannot be good for the battery *sigh*

If you use setCPU you can clock down the CPU if the battery hits a specified temperature. No ideas for cause; check the running apps.
