iPhone headphones with microphones are currently incompatible with the Zte blade as Apple has swapped the ground and mic pins.
Nowadays most sound chips have all their inputs and outputs reprogrammable and reroutable.

Has anyone explored the possibility of trying to reroute the zte blade pinout in order to make it compatible with products designed for iPhones?

you have got the layout correct. Would be easy to buid a converter but 4point male and female connectors are hard to get
