Help on rebooting after flashing ROM

Hi, I'm trying to install Cyanogen 6.1.2 onto my rooted desire.

Rooted via Visionary, i have not flash the engineering HBoot nor the radio. I have confirmed s-off and confirmed superuser access.

Everything goes as planned flashing the ROM and Gapps, no error messages at all. It hangs at the first HTC logo.

I've rewiped everything, reflashed, same. Rewiped, tried to recover, again no error messages, hangs at green logo. Advanced recovery where I've reinstalled boot, system, etc one at a time, all successful, hangs at HTC logo.

I have no hair, If i had hair, i'd have pulled it all out.

Can anyone help, just a little? Thanks

you have to use cwm 2.x.x recovery not 3. 3 is for CM7 to support ext4 file system i believe.

did you do a nandroid at all before trying to flash?i.e. back up? that is the first thing it says on the CM forums.

if you haven't not all is lost

for some reason the phone is very awkward like the vision too. they can be fussy at times.

truth be told it took me 27 attempts to get CM7 to boot. i ran a logcat and on some i wasnt able to get that. a logcat.

my advice is try redownload the cyanogen rom again encase it was originally corrupt. wipe everything and then reflash the rom. disconnect the usb port off the device before you do that. shouldnt make a difference in all honesty lol but heck you never know.

just make sure you are using the 2.5.12 recovery(the numbers are a guess sorry i cant remember on top of my head as its 5am and i need sleep)

if all fails we will try flash another rom and then get you into a working state.

so to summerise you are getting bootloop at white background htc green logo. and are only radio s-off

did you use g free 0.4? with the -f command? just asking to know if you have super cid, i.e. can flash any rom regardless of brand, i.e. no need for goldcard

Apologies.

I should have updated this to say that I downloaded a stock 1.32.405 rom and flashed that. Everything went fine and since that I have completed the rooting process with eng-off as well as regular s-off.

I have now flashed leedroid 2.2.2 including the recommended radio with no issues at all.

I think that I could try a cm rom in the future but will double and triple check everything during the process. I can only assume that I didn't follow something completely correctly.

Considering i had to downgrade with a goldcard first, I thought the rom flashing would be the easy part.

Thanks for you replies though.
