Hello there,

Considering buying a tablet to store all my textbooks. They are all in .chm and .pdf formats. Could you guys recommend a good tablet? I have android on my phone, so android based tablets would be good. Has anyone used the Adam for reading textbooks?

Regards.

err there are other devices which are cheaper atm in comparison to this and very little waiting time. it all depends on what specification do you want. a wifi only tablet?or one with built in 3g? what screen size? 7inch? or 10.1? it all depends.

what do you use to open a .chm on you're current android mobile? free pdf readers available so there should be no problem.

i am assuming you are from/currently in india from your flag in your name. however if you are not a location to mention would be preferable to show you what is in your current market.

i assume it would be easy for you to just import a product from east asia but i have no clue about your tax and how it works.

Hi there,

Thanks for your response. I would like the following spec:Screen size: 10" or above, Wi-Fi. Not bothered about 3G. I am currently in India. I use CHMate to read chm files. Or do you think that the iPad2 would be better?

Regards.

i dont think the ipad2 will be better :( think thats going backwards :)

you can search for the advent vega on the modaco forum. that device is the name given to a wifi only module of a tegra2 tablet and cost £249 while i understand that that particular tablet is only available in the uk market it however has been rebranded from a Japanese tablet called shuttle. there are so many different brands of this same device. they have threads on it on the vega side i believe. maybe cheaper of you get from japan or china.

all tablets coming out shortly have the same specs really, tegra2 dual core chip, the diffrence between 200 and 250 can be found via google really. the screens are 10.1" come with usb port, slave and host can be selected by you. it already has a huge customer base behind it.so i ask do you have anyone to send it to you from the uk or will you want to buy from japan or china and get a huge bargain for the job you want or for the same specs pay higher for a notion ink adam though i believe their higher specifications are well priced and would recommend them to anyone.

it all comes what you use it for and what devices do that job. then how they rate agasint each other including price and the device i have mentioned is one of the cheapest around with a good community behind it and has very good specs. even has flash player :( lol but so does notion ink.

i hope to have helped.

Thanks for the above comment, mate. Since the tablet is only for accesssing books on the go, I`ll go for the Adam. I`ve heard some poor reviews on the screen of the vega. I`ve been asked for my preference of the Adam. Does anyone know, what`s the price of the Pixel Q screen enabled Wi-fi only adam?

worth the extra cash for the better screen unless ur not too fussy saving a few quid and having to hold the vega at certain tight angles to get a proper view :/
