Hey guys,

I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm a newbie, and I need some guidance, guidance in the simplest possible terms.

I've got the GT540, currently running the stock UK CPW 2.1 ROM (GT540-V20C-DEC-09-2010), Kernel 2.6.29.

I've rooted it using the method in the reference thread, and I've also run the apps2SD process with the PDF also in the reference thread. All seemed to go smoothly.

However:

* I can't see how to move my existing applications to the SD card (which I've partitioned, and given 500Mb to a primary EXT2 partition).

* How do I delete some of the naff apps LG included (like The Sims 3 and Wapedia)?

Thanks in advance for your patience and help!

Tom :(

if u have applied app2sd in the reference thread correctly, then the apps have already moved to sd. And everything you will install later will go there.

Regarding the stock apps that you want to remove, use an app called Uninstaller for root from the market. Try not to uninstall Google apps because some of them are bounded tightly to the OS.

Thanks for your help, that's great - got that sorted :(

I've noticed whilst browsing around my phone with ES File Explorer that there are a number of folders in /System/3rd party/ArcSoft for apps I've deleted such as video editor, taking up quite a bit of space. ES File Explorer won't let me delete them, can anyone recommend a good (and free) root access file explorer?

Thanks again! :(

No root access file explorer is better than "Root Explorer"

I don't recall if its the latest version or not.

Anyway. You do not need to delete what is left over from old system apps. It will not benifit you in anyway. These files on a different partition (system partition) that you can not install apps into. So the extra space is actually useless given the risk of deleting files on your own with root explorer.

For uninstalling system apps, I'll suggest Uninstaller for Root. You can get it from the Market. Link: https://market.android.com/details?id=org.b...e=search_result
