Hi All,

I tried to upgrade from 1.6 to 2.1 yesterday. I downloaded what i had to & followed all the steps as shown on the LG SITE.

The "Analysis" & "Download" & "Update" All went good. Then before going into the last step, It went into emergency mode nd the screen went blue. A msg popped up on my laptop, saying something like, there was a connection error, please Disconect the usb cable from phone take battery out & put it back in nd reconnect it to the pc nd press continue... I did just like it said... Well nothing happend. The phone went dead!! It doesn't work at all anymore, it's not functioning at all, i tried to hold down the volume key button & start, also many other things but nothing works. it's just dead bricked. it wont charge, my pc doesn't recognize it. Absolutely nothing works =(((( I cannot enter download mode. I just tried kdz updater in emergency mode. That does not work either. Says "PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!". I followed all the steps correctly, please help me!! i just got this phone couple days ago from e-bay, nd we don't have an lg store in Bosnia. =(( Please help. How do I power on the device ...

the exact same thing happened to me while i was trying to update my phone to 2.1 last night!! please help!!!!

Hey both of you, it appears you have deadbrick your phone, you cant bring it back to life by yourself from this point, the only thing can help you is LG Service, give the phone to them and tell what happened, if you still have the warranty, they will replace/fix your phone for free. I had this exact same thing before and i readed alot, you can fix it by your self if you have a some sort of a device or know a good programmer with that device Well but im doubtful... My phone was dead and didnt react to anything like yourse, i delivered it to LG service guys and they replaced it in 1week, i received Brand New one(NEW IMEI NUMBER) only with my old scratched skin :S Also they gave me a phone to replace mine while it was on service, Wonderful!

Trust me theres nothing you can do, you both have killed a bootloader. And if you dont have a waranty, well you pretty much badword up... :S

Well, I guess u had some luck. Like i said, In BOSNIA, We do not have a LG STORE. I ordered that phone from E-Bay. i did have a 2 year warranty, but i threw it away!! I tried to contact LG from their site, but it's not going thrue. i Also went to phone service here nd they told me to fix it it's about 80 euros. i mean the phone here brand new is 100 euros so i'm not even thinkin about payin so much to get it fixed. but i guess there's no cure for now... All i can do it throw it away i guess....

what can u do with the phone i mean can u acsses any mode?

He killed the bootloader, he cant acces any mode at all, try holding a brinck in your hand, thats how hes phone works right now, like a brick

So there's no cure for it but to send it back to lg or w.e ... which i can't... which means i can just throw it away?

What is their E-mail ?? i tried contacting them from their LG site, but the mail is not going thrue =((

i just went on their support site and clicked contact by email and filled out the form.

If its Bricked like ilove says,You say you got it of ebay why dont you put it on ebay as spare's or repairs,you might get some money back,or search ebay for some one to unbrick it,maybe cheaper than getting LG to fix with no warrenty.

If you have waranty, it would be free and between 1week, just contact the waranty service that is provided in your waranty contract.

And i feel really sorry for you, i dont know what i can help you in this situation :s You could try to find a good programmer/hacker with needed hardware(That hardware cost alot ~150$) and software to flash the bootloader back to the phone, thats all i can suggest to you :s you shouldnt throw the waranty away :S

Don't just through it away yet. There is a mail-in service in the UK. You can send them the phone by mail and they will fix it and send it back to you and it does not cost that much.
I had the same problem because of BADWORD windows vista but I was lucky enough to get it fixed by LG service center.
I will look up the site for the phone fix service and post it here.
