Guest takashi2
I made many tests with the solutions proposed on many forums. At the end I found the most simple working solutions on my Samsung OmniaPRO GT-B7610. On board: - Windows Mobile 6.5 (WM 6.5) [CSC_B7610NXXIL4.csc - Phone_B7610XXJC1.bin - PDA_B7610NXXJC2_HW_70.MST] - tom tom Navigator 7.918.9193 (part 1, part 2) / 7.917.9186 To be sure that everything will be fine, I suggest to make first an Hard Reset of your device to avoid COM ports “old” conflicts. 1- On your dial pad digit *#1472365#, that will open an hidden function "Nogarder GPS" 2- Menu -> Settings -> GPS 3- Starting: set on “Cold Start (Delete All)” 4- OK –> Exit 5- Switch off and on (NOT Soft reset!!!) 6- On your device: Start -> Settings -> Network -> GPS –> Connection 7- Set “GPS software port” on COM4, “Hardware GPS port” on COM9, “Baund rate” on 9600. 8- Install Tom Tom Navigator (the last are 7.918.9193 and 7.917.9186) 9- In tom tom settings: Change preferences -> Configure GPS - Configure 10- Select “Built-in GPS receiver”. 11- Wait for the fix. [update #1] It seems that after using ActiveSync, the previous configuration doesn't work anymore! So, use the next working configuration: 1- Idem 2- Idem 3- Idem 4- Idem 5- Idem 6- Idem 7- Set “GPS software port” on COM8, “Hardware GPS port” on COM9, “Baud rate” on 9600. 8- Idem 9- Idem 10- Select “Other NMEA GPS receiver”, “GPS baud rate”: 4800, tap on COM8 11- Idem. [update #2] If the GPS signal is good, tom tom needs just (about) 1 minute and 30 seconds to fix. If for any reason tom tom needs MORE than 3 min make this: 1- On your dial pad digit again *#1472365#, that will open an hidden function "Nogarder GPS" 2- Menu -> Get Position 3- Wait for the fix (often fast) 4- DON'T press OK 5- Press "End/Power" key (DON'T switch off your device) 6- Launch tom tom and wait for the fix 7- If you want, you can go back and close the "Nogarder GPS" hidden funciton OR: 1- On your dial pad digit again *#1472365#, that will open an hidden function "Nogarder GPS" 2- Menu -> Settings -> GPS 3- Don't do anything! Just ceck if “Cold Start (Delete All)” is selected 4- OK –> Exit 5- Switch off and on (NOT Soft reset!!!) 6- Launch tom tom and wait about 1 minute and 30 seconds to fix [update #3] After having used the previous methods, it seems that re-selecting again "Hot start" [instead of “Cold Start (Delete All)”] in "Nogarder GPS", maks the GPS fix faster! If something goes wrong and/or you made many changes and/or you don't want another hard reset, I suggest to use "OmniaGpsModkey": 1- Install GpsModDriver, launch it and select Yes [when you tap on No, you reset the default keys]; 2- On your device: Start -> Settings -> Network -> GPS –> Connection; 3- Set “GPS software port” on COM4, “Hardware GPS port” on COM9, “Baund rate” on 57600; 4- Soft reset; 5- In tom tom settings: Change preferences -> Configure GPS - Configure, select “Built-in GPS receiver”. Notes - After the fix you can increase both the Baud Rate in Phone Network settings and in tom tom GPS settings. - I suppose this guide applies to Omnia I8000 too.OmniaGpsModkey.CAB Edited April 14, 2011 by takashi2
