Guest Tommy Golden
Series of Events: Got San Francisco. Unlocked it. Rooted it using Universal Androot. Added CM7 nightly build in zip form. Installed ROM Manager. Ran ClockworkMod option in Rom Manager. Rebooted into recovery mode. Wiped data, cache and Davlik. (I was following instructions: http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&sourc...EWHNmy4wnX-inA) All went well, but I felt I would prefer Japanese Jellyfish 2.2 due to speed. I followed same steps to install Jellyfish and it also went well. I had Jellyfish for a few days when I changed my SD card from a 2gb to a 8gb. Noticed CM7 stable had been released so I tried to install it. Recieved message in Recovery: "Install from sdcard... Finding update package... Opening update package... E:Can't open /sdcard/update-cm-7.0.0-Blade-signed.zip (bad) Installation aborted." Help would be hugely appreciaed as phone is behaving very strange all over the pace and a change in android mod would help a lot. Cheers, Tom

Cheers, Tom Does the download MD5 match the one posted with the download? If not you may want to re-download and check again. What version of Clockwork are you on? Got a feeling CM7 can only be flashed by some of the newer ones 3.x.x.x

Just try again, cm flashed successfully on second attempt for me It hasn't happened in my last 3 or 4 gos at it. By the way I forgot to mention that now when I press the ClockWork Mod option in Rom Manager it doesn't let me - says cannot connect with server although Wifi is on. ------------- Edit: using latest version of ROM Manager now and I think this has solved it. ------------- Edit 2: It hasn't solved it. ClockWork Mod option worked now but even so I got the same error when trying to install the cm7 zip file Please help! Guest Michealtbh
Which version of cwm are you using? Try a different version. Are you trying to flash through rom manager? Try manually booting into recovery and flashing. It would also be worth re-downloading the rom
Guest dibbles
Recieved message in Recovery: "Install from sdcard... Finding update package... Opening update package... Maybe I'm being a bit slow here but are you trying to install the CM7 ROM as an update (which will fail) rather than install it as a zip from the SD card (which will work)...? Boot to recovery and use the option within a version 3.xxxxx of CWM to install a zip from the SD card and apply that file (after you checked its MD5). Nope, the text (and error) is from Clockwork recovery, and most of it is displayed every time you flash a new ROM. Just seems to think there's something wrong with it. I used ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.1.4 No, I'm not updating it. I have come directly from Japanese Jellyfish and it is being installed as a zip. Which version of cwm are you using? Try a different version. Are you trying to flash through rom manager? Try manually booting into recovery and flashing. It would also be worth re-downloading the rom I have flashed through rom manager. I will try it manually and will also re-download the rom. Guest Tommy Golden
I wiped my data + cache and tried to install cm7.0 stable, and cm7 nightly. Neither worked and output was same as first thread. "Install from sdcard... Finding update package... Opening update package... E:Can't open /sdcard/update-cm-7.0.0-Blade-signed.zip (bad) Installation aborted." Only difference was the nightly build took more time between "Opening update package..." and "E:Can't open /sdcard/cm_blade_full-38.zip (bad) Installation aborted." Any more ideas would be appreciated more than you could imagine! :)

(Clutching at straws here!)
