Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place

I'm trying to get a tablet that will play untouched 720p MKV's so far I have unsuccessful

! have a lot of 720p stuff that I want to play without trans-coding (one of the main reasons I ditched my ipad)

Bought a LG Optimus Pad and thought it's sorted it will be a play 720p files no problem... boy was I wrong it was dropping frames like crazy ( Rock player /V video)

Is there anything in the market or coming to the market that will play unmodded 720p MKV ?

Well, without  transcoding? You'll likely not get any 720p .mkv's to play very nicely at all. The only thing that comes close to being able to play them is RockPlayer. Maybe when VLC launches they can get it right but I dunno.
What I did is using the Aneesoft Free Video Converter to do the conversion for my watching~

Galaxy S2 / Tab can play 1080p H.264 High profile level 5.0 + DTS/FLAC/OGG Audio.
Galaxy S/Sensation/Evo 4G can play 720p
if your device can play 720p MP4, diceplayer can play 720p MKV.
diceplayer use HW video decoder.

Have you tried moboplayer? It is alot smoother than Rockplayer, but not sure if it will work though.
