Phone gets very warm when using mobile data

I've just been using the SGS2 on my train journey home and I've noticed that the top of the phone, especially the topleft corner, gets very warm while 3G data is being sent & received.

It's not the battery that's getting warm and it doesn't seem to happen on wifi or while charging.

Has anyone else noticed this ?
