I replaced the external speaker in my nexus one becuase it wasnt working at all. I thought a new speaker might fix the no sound issue. Playing music or any sound through it now is so quite its barely audible, kinda like when you havent pushed a headphone jack far enough in. I made sure the speaker is seated properly and cleaned the contacts but that hasnt fixed it. Any ideas?

I don't want to splash out on a new flex cable ~£45! and find out I could have done something else.

Looks like it needs a new Main Flex Cable, I reckon the board has corroded from the water damage and the speaker isnt getting enough power.
