Hi All,

After 2 days trying to get KIES to upgrade mine firmware, and get the annoying message "dll load failed". I finaly got the workaround, start kies in vista sp2 compatibility mode and as administrator, after that it works flawless.

Hmmm, I have the same problem with 64bit win7 but neither vista sp2 nor xp sp2 compatibly mode along with administrator work for me. I still get the DLL load failed error.

Was there perhaps anything else you did?

I installed the 64 bit drivers.

After that I reinstalled Kies 2.0

reboot PC.

change kies compatibility mode to win vista SP2 and administrator.

After that it finally worked for me.

Thats wierd. im Running Win 7 ult X64 and kies 2.0 had that error once and had to reboot my phone, Started it all up again and it worked flawlessly without having to fiddle anything.

Kies still annoys me though, its so Damn slow and buggy !

Success for me after:

1. Uninstalled kies

2. installing the above drivers

3. Re-installing kies

4. running as administrator

Thank you

I prefer to run anything that installs USB / modem drivers (and is hard to get rid of

once installed (lesson learned the hard way from major trouble caused by Nokia modem

drivers a while ago)) in a virtual machine, so I'm running Kies in a VM and it does

that OK, with one exception - backing up phone data crashes.

From XDA-Developers (this seemed to work for a few people, including me):

DLL error solution:

* Use UK version of Kies - ends 11_3, running "As Administrator".

* If you use a password / pattern lock, temporarily disable it.

* Start process - as the phone restarts, you'll see Windows try to install a driver but not quite succeed before the DLL error occurs.

* DO NOT CLOSE KIES.

* Restart the phone.

* Wait until it's completely restarted, then reconnect it to the PC.

* Kies will attempt the firmware update again and this time it will work, with the driver already loaded into memory and installing quickly.
