Hi All!

i need some advice. baring in mind im a noob at this aswell. a few months ago i bought a GT540 mobile from the Car Phone Warehouse. it is on the vodafone network.

when i run the "3845#*540#" it tells me im running

SW Version Info

Firmware Version

2.1-update1

Baseband Version

ever since i have bought the mobile the boot screen has never appeared. i have searched various sites but no luck or lack of understanding on this

so please if some one can help me sort this problem out that would be great

p.s. is there any way i can "reflash" this to factory settings rather than doing it on the mobile???

Hehe, this is just a side-effect from the LGE update tool... happened to me too.

There is a fix for this, but it's a bit messy...

Download the tool from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=810271

And these ROM files: (Put them all in the one folder for easy find/use)

V20A_00.kdz

V20B_00.kdz

out.kdz

*Turn phone off, unplug USB cable (if connected) and remove battery for about 10 seconds... replace battery into phone and power it up while hold the Volume Down (-) button.

The screen should display "Download Mode".

Extract the files from the first 7zip file (not the *.kdz files, the *.7z one... you may need 7zip or similar to extract).

Run the "KDZ_FW_UPD.exe" file that you extracted just a moment ago. And connect phone to PC via USB Cable (Some have reported problems using their front USB ports, so you may opt to use a back port just to be safer.)

Make sure that the application is using these settings.

Type: 3GQCT (Should be set by default)

Phone Mode: CS_EMERGENCY (This one you'll have to change from DIAG)

Click on the open folder icon next to the "KDZ File" section and find/select the first KDZ file (V20A_00.kdz) and click the "Launch software update"

Repeat this process for all three files, in the order I've listed them here. (After flashing each file the phone will reboot itself into normal mode, this is normal)

--------------------

*Optional, the update will still work if you don't do this part... it will just reboot your phone into this mode anyways

Finally, after few hours of trying to restore boot animation, i read this post.

Thank you very much, Stephen J. Knill!
