Hi, Im trying to change my splash image from the standard green android logo, I just need clarification that I have the irght idea.

1. I have created my own image in 480x800 resolution.

2. Using GIMP, I flipped the image horizontally, and saved it as .bmp (16bit format R5 G6 B5) --> filename is "splash.bmp"

3. I placed it into this zip file (by wbaw): http://android.modaco.com/index.php?act=at...st&id=71119

4. Replacing the old "splash.bmp" in the zip and I also deleted the "bootanimation.zip" inside the main zip (since I dont want to change that)

Now all I have to do is flash the .zip in clockwork right?

Also how do I backup the original splash image?

My own image:

yes, just flash that zip.

and what do you mean restore the original?

there are "stock" (orange and android) splashes available in the stickied thread

Thanks I was refering to the green android logo, that is displayed very first when you turn on the phone? How do I back that image up incase I want to restore it?

I assume what I am referring to is the splash image?

Yes you are referring to the splash image.

There is no need to back it up as it is already available in the stickied thread.

is this applicable for zte racer?

I would assume so, however the resolution would need to be adjusted to fit the screen (im not sure what res it is :P) - and I dont think that flipping it in gimp would be necessary (the blade has a funky screen) - however the racer may yield its own issues regarding this.

If the firmware uses splash images in the same way as the blade then it should work. (though there were issues on android 2.1 when both splashes displayed or something)

There shouldn't be any harm in flashing the file anyway, and should any problems occur just re-install your firmware (wipe not necessary)
