Guest Dr_Ash Posted June 6, 2011 Report Share Posted June 6, 2011 For those of you that are interested in overclocking your U8800 - here is the boot.img I am using (downloaded from the forum at XDA) - it is working with the 136 International ROM no problems. Have it running up at 1.5ghz no problem. I am interested to see if incorporating the overclock kernel itself into Paul's boot.img will result in even better performance. Or maybe Paul himself wouldn't mind unlocking his kernel for overclocking ;-) (just in case he reads this!) Guest Cirno Posted June 8, 2011 Report Share Posted June 8, 2011 Using the, 1.8GHz boot.img, just for shits and giggles ! However to be honest I have only my phone set to. 254MHz - 1136MHz ondemand. When I use smartass or conservative the phone acts up with micro shuttering every now or then. I can run 1.8GHz with no problem, only downside is I get lots of hiccups which is bad, making it not as stable for everyday use. My true max stable is at 1.7GHz. Battery life just goes poof if you have it at over 1.4GHz. My guessing is to not have high clocks until they make an option for undervolting. I`d like to know if it were possible to simply replace Paul`s superboot boot.img (see: http://android.modaco.com/content/huawei-u...u8800-ideos-x5/ ) with the following 'maxis rom B136 overclock bootloader (1).7z' from http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment...mp;d=1303318760. I have done some minor tweaks in the build.prop file and media profiles, but other than that I`m using U8800V100R001C00B136 which is the latest international overseas ROM with kernel version: 2.6.32.9-perf (= Paul`s superboot). I want to see how my X5 runs on ~1 Ghz i.e. the performance boost by just overclocking my Chinese beast. ;) I can wait for an overclocked version of Paul`s superboot in case it will be available this week.
