Battery status broken

Hi,

My O2x took a swim a couple of weeks ago and after having it dried (rice FTW) I had to have the display and the touchscreen replaced. The display had stripes, and the repair guy said the touchscreen was damaged as well, even though it still worked (he showed me).

So, Although it is likely my problem is related to the water damage I'm 99% sure the battery indicator worked properly when I got it back (still on stock rom) so I'm posting my problem here anyway:

• Before installing the latest MDC ROM I figured I'd wipe everything and also did the battery stats reset in Clockwork recovery.
• Now the indicator in the statusbar shows a white battery icon with circular arrows (like a refresh icon).
• In settings, Battery status is "unknown" and Battery level is 999%
• Battery use however gives realistic percentages on usage
• When it's almost empty, I get the 15% warning and then shuts down gracefully pretty soon after that. (so 15% is obviously not right, but it does detect the low level)
• When I leave the phone off while charging, the battery indicator (animation you see when briefly pressing power) seems to be quite accurate.

So, it looks to me that the battery (and it's software) are still ok and I'm hoping it is a software error, rather then the aftermath of taking a swim.

Any ideas? Any tips on what I could try/test?
