Do admins have own a device before it is recognised ?

Modaco is the best site - much more 'community' than other sites

I bought one at the weekend too, would be good to see a forum on here.  Also there were another 100 devices sold on Monday on ebuyers ebay site.

I noticed that Paul tried contacted @HannspreeUK on twitter does anyone know if that was to request the kernel source code.  Is there any progress on this?

I saw 400 get Hannspads sold on ebay for just £150! They sold damn quick! Fortunately I managed to get hold of one.

I read that the Gtab 1.2 Honeycomb roms work on this but a few features are missing because of the minor difference between the Gtab and the Hannspad.
Would be great to have a dedicated dev to look into this great value pad.

Yes and another 100 went Monday, I was able to grab one with the 15% ebay voucher making it only 127.50 bargain, I'm looking forward to romming it and seeing what it can do.

I started a poll to see what sort of interest a custom ROM would generate for the Hannspad. So far over 3 days 83 people would like to see a custom ROM. There are obviously people that would like a ROM but haven't seen the poll so I think 83 is a huge number waiting to see a ROM so lets have our own forum!

It would be most cool to have a Hannspad section. I've stuck the TnT rom on it for now as I couldn't be doing with all that adb rigmarole to get the Market. Works well but I'd like to see a HoneyComb rom.

Yea this tab is getting crowded. Really happy to see that modaco is looking to this tab. I just contacted hannspree about the Kernel. I do hope they release it soon

Hopefully you get a better reply than i did if they even bother replying to you at all lol

In the end I had to email all their public email addresses and post on their twitter and facebook before i finally got a "no"

Did they just say "NO" without any further explanation. I think thats just cheeky. How dare them. Well they are obliged to release the freekin kernel. Also is there any hassle for them to release the kernel? Or is it just company policy so they can sell the next model with honeycomb?

No, I can't find the email but it was something along the lines of "No, we have no plans to release the kernel source"

As someone else said under the GPL they have to release the source, however there isn't any time frame specified for doing it

Hey just got a reply from hannspree. They just let me know that my email was forwarded to the product Management. They will investigate and let us know. I do hope will get a positive answer. I am not sure if this has something to do because the mass emails people sending them since i opened a thread with that?!
