I'd like to sort out a GorillaPod compatible case for my Samsung S2 similar to the ones available for the iPhone 4.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Joby-Gorilla-Mobile-Holder-iPhone/dp/B004AP9638/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1313953762&sr=1-9

It's to save me getting the shakes when I try to do HDR / time-lapse video recording. Looked on eBay, via Google etc. and can only find one (official branded) for the iPhone 4.

Any out (official branded or otherwise) for the S2?

I think this the downfall of the android handsets ... not so many accessories.

The cost of tooling up means that for something with wide distribution, the iPhone which only has 2 models 3GS form, and 4 form will win. Tooling up for Galaxy s, SII, Nexus S, Desire, Desire HD ... would cost a fortune.

How about the standard Gorillapod SLR, and create your own case/stand which attaches to the tripod.

Or ... bit radical, get a DSLR.

Aye - fair point. Pity the dimensions aren't similar enough to shoehorn the S2 into the case. Hey ho, them's the breaks.

This is a possibility I guess by way of creating some kind of bracket that the S2 can fit into and also features a screw connector for the Gorillapod I already have. I know someone who's good and craft-orientated like this, it'll be a challenge :)

I've got a Canon digital camera already - the Samsung is better at doing the macro shots as it doesn't need a long lens sticking up a spider's arse when I want a close up shot :)

I've no need for DSLR though - too bulky and don't want to end up like those blokes (like my Dad) who have to carry a huge array of gear around with them. I like the spontaneity of the quick shot you thought you'd never get. Most of the macro shots I've done were thanks to the hacked camera app elsewhere in this forum which ensures I don't scare the bejesus out of whatever insect I'm taking a picture off :) I used to own a Pixon 12 so I like the quality of the macro shots.... just wish my hands didn't shake so much :)
