I'd (and hopefully the community) would be very grateful if you could provide a romdump of the device and upload it and post the link here. The reason I ask for this is so that (hopfully) we can use the romdump to unlock OMCs that many of us have. So if anyone does have the specified device - please help! Guest t0mm13b Posted August 23, 2011 Report Share Posted August 23, 2011 It will take a while to get a unlocked rom dump - some suppliers online do not have them yet, we're talking about October at the latest, where you can actually buy a unlocked/sim-free Skate. But unfortunately, the pricing is not yet confirmed - well for me anyway with expansys.ie (it's the only one in Ireland that is offering it) I do recall seeing Amazon offering it from 21st September onwards.... I managed to get one from him some days later. They're being sold before they hit the shelves straight from the back of the shop... Anyway my OMC was marked for contract, not pay as you go. The kind sales person stuck a pay-go sticker over the contract sticker on the OMC box and sold it with the usuall compulsary £10 top-up fee... He transfered my old Orange sim number from my OSF purchase last year onto the new pay-go sim... So I seriously thought I might have an unlocked contract OMC....alas no, it's sim locked..... Does anyone have an a free telephone numder to Orange costumer service, I might be able to wrangle the simlock code seeing as it was supposed to be a contract phone... How can i dump the original rom? adb reboot recovery then boot clockworkmod using fastboot boot whatever-recovery.img (Notice the difference between boot and flash just using boot won't touch the installed rom at all). Knowing a (very nice) girl who works in Orange Retail, she told me that Orange have changed the internal system since the merger with TMobile, all phones are now shipped to retail as Contract.. if a customer buys one on PAYG the staff have to remove the pre-installed contract SIM and install a PAYG one... apparently its because in the past they have ended up with no PAYG stock of some devices but loads of Contract ones in stock they cant get rid of.. sort of makes some logic... I'm informatic engineer and I'm going to receive my OMC today, if anybody can teach me how to start search the way to unlock and help you I would apreciate it.
