Computer recognizes phone as 'Android'

My computer recognizes my GT540 as 'Android' whenever I plug it in to the USB jack. However, it won't connect and it can't find the drivers for it. I'm trying to upgrade my phone to 2.3.7, but I can't because my computer won't recognize it, this is after I rooted it. Any help?

You can download Android drivers from LG's website.
