How to open and view build.prop without installing ROM? (Format image.bin)

any chance of making a zip file out of these for simple flashing using clockwork...?

Also, were these made with clockwork and root installed or are they completely "clean" stock...?

You can extract the image.bin with ztepack and there is also a windows tool.

After you've extracted the files from image.bin, you can use e.g. unyaffs to extract files (including build.prop) from the system.img.
