Need Tun.ko file

My current rom doesnt have tun.ko file necessary for me to use vpn applications. I dont know how to make one. Somebody says that it has to be made for my rom/kernel version for compatibility. Another requires me to have this "config.gz" file on the /proc/config.gz location to compile for my rom/kernel but mine has nothing.
