New tool for amss, dsp1 and recovery easy flash by me:

Update: 23/11/2011 CleanFlasher 4.0

70997694.th.png

Update: 21:20 05/11/2011

New build based on DJ_STEVE StreakDroid 2.4.4 RC 1 ROM

Clean GB 3

Mirror

*Updated some apps

* New startup animation

* For Dell Stage 1.6 (new) Launcher place this file on root directory of your SD Card before flash. Results will be GingerBread Launcher and Dell Stage 1.6 (new) Launcher.

Update: 18:53 01/11/2011

New build is here.

Clean GB 2

Mirror

* Added CRT animation effect on screen lock.

*Changed "About phone-OEM version" info.

Clean GB

This is a DJ Steve StreakDroid Rom without dell apps.

*GingerBread Launcher

All Apps are on screenshots. I uninstall almost all outdoor applications, letting only the basics of Google. That 's prevent problems with force close on some pre installed apps and you can install whatever you want.

Do I still need to flash baseband & dspl per DJ_Steves 2.4 RC1 post?

baseband & dsp1 from 2.4 to 2.4.4 are same. Update is needed if you come from Froyo only.

Excellent ROM, exactly what I was looking for, really skinny, no extra baggage, the only changes I made in the ROM zip was to replace the boot animation with 2.4.4, phone.apk with the one from 2.4.1 and voice dialler, nice and smooth....thank you.

Is there a way I can replace the Modaco launcher with Launcherpro as my stock launcher?

Add launcherpro command in empty txt file in your SD Card root directory before flash the ROM. Name it Install.txt. After flash use SystemApp Remover to remove modaco launcher.

Or...... download this version of Rom

I used your CleanFlasher and flashed the CleanGB. Why does my Android version read 2.3.3? I thought it was from DJ_Steve's 2.4.4 RC 1.

2.3.3 is a version of Android (newest is 2.3.6 for Gingerbread. Honeycomb is 3.x.x, IceCreamSandwich is 4.x.x)

2.4.4 is custom version of Rom of DJ Steve. There is not version of Android like 2.4.x

This has nothing to do with the version of Android. With Other words DJ Steve's Rom 2.4.4 is based on Android 2.3.3 GingerBread :)

Makes sense, thanks. Seem like a very smooth and stable ROM. Great job! biggrin.gif

Brilliant ROM, exactly what I was looking for, however after using for 2 days, I get random restarts. If I factory rest it works for another 2 days, and then random restarts. sometimes boot loop for about 4 cycles then starts up fine.

Any Suggestions on how to fix this?

*factory reset from STREAKMOD

*flash Rom zip file

*reboot

*factory reset from dell menu (Ignore text of the top of this picture)

Flash amss and dsp1 if you came from Froyo.

No random reboots ever for me

I have gone through the steps you provided, main difference I could see was I previously flashed AMSS and dsp1 before installing the zip file, here is what I done:

Through ClockWork Recovery Mod

Wipe Cache Partition

Wipe Dalvik Cache

Wipe Battery Status

Wipe Data/Factory reset

Installed Clean GB 3.zip

Restarted, allowed phone to startup. - FAILED - 4 x BOOT LOOP - Freez on Android Logo

Pulled Battery

Tried to do a Factory Reset "Dell" - Failed

Default NV Check #2 In Red at the bottom of the screen

Phone Restarts Itself

Factory Reset "Dell" - Phone Start Up successfully

  • fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn
  • fastboot -i 0x413c flash dsp1 dsp1.mbn
  • fastboot -i 0x413c reboot

I am using the following install.txt

Portrait

launcherpro

density120

===================================================

Setting up Exchange mail still results in force close on Mail Program

Noticed sms messages are now grouped as From and To no longer in order received and sent "Strange was not like this Before"

Will have to see if the phone restarts itself like before

Through ClockWork Recovery Mod

Wipe Cache Partition

Wipe Dalvik Cache

Wipe Battery Status

Wipe Data/Factory reset

Installed Clean GB 3.zip

Restarted, allowed phone to startup. (Mistake! Do a Dell Factory Reset before first boot . Press buttons 2 seconds after dell logo appear.) - FAILED - 4 x BOOT LOOP - Freez on Android Logo

Pulled Battery

Tried to do a Factory Reset "Dell" - Failed

Default NV Check #2 In Red at the bottom of the screen (because you pressed the buttons a little earlier than necessary. Press buttons 2 seconds after dell logo appear.)

Phone Restarts Itself

Factory Reset "Dell" - Phone Start Up successfully

Thank you,

I did the steps exactly as you suggested, this time not a single error when flashing.

I had a random re-boot this morning, will continue to monitor.

I have 2 Issues:

  • I cannot Sync my Exchange Mail. Mail Application force Close.
  • I cannot check Air Time, If I dial *121*2# as I normally do, It Says : USSD Code Running... > Connection Problem or Invalid MMI Code

If I cant get this sorted, I will have to go back to a Different ROM sad.gif
