I've had experience with Android devices and many different custom ROMs. Does a Windows Phone offer the same level of customisation? i.e. are there ROMs out there any custom ROMs from developers similar to CyanogenMod for Android or do we just rely on Microsoft for software updates? It's a more controlled enviroment adverts are generally for free aps and so it's the authors way of reclaiming costs, as it's free it's not much to ask. There is not much that can be customised visually, the whole design of the phone is to get in do what you need to do and carry on with your life. The social aspect that inbuilt into the OS saves a lot of time plus no need to install third party apps just to get the phone in a usable state as such.
