Weird thing happened.

I unlocked my Staraddict, flashed CWM, CM7, installed gapps and ES-FileExplorer and edited the MAC-address. The phone restarted several times without any problem. It did no longer ask for an unlock-code with any SIM.

Then I installed some additional apps, games and Link2SD (the SD-card had already a second 'ext3' partition from an older install). I selected the 2nd partition in Link2SD then it asked me to restart the phone for the mount-scripts to take effect.

That's the point where it got weird: After restarting the phone, it asked for a SIM unlock-code! I was really shocked!

When I choose to ignore, everything works unexpectedly well. The phone is not locked to SFR. But since then, each time I restart the phone, it asks me for a SIM unlock-code. If I choose to ignore, everything works fine.

What has happened? Why does everything work well even thou I chose to ignore to enter the unlock-code? Is the phone doing this because of Link2SD?

I've explained this on the CM7's thread.

There is a line in Phone.apk that states to show that unlock code request all the time.

I've alerted Lalit for that, he said he corrected it in v3.0, so you might think of downloading the latest version.

Yeah, I saw this in the CM-thread, but I wondered why this didn't happen at the 1st restart after I flashed CM7. I can't recall for sure if I restarted the phone at least once again before I installed Link2SD, but I really think so.

I will try V3.0 this evening and report. Tank you.

Yes.

Flashed V3 over V2.5 (no wipe) -> no more prompt for SIM unlock.

Edit:

- Link2SD on ext3 still works (took a minute for the icons of the apps on the SD-card to appear after restart).

- Buttons [Home] and [Menu] inverted again (did the change on V2.5). Had to do the /system/usr/keylayout/skate_keypad.kl trick again.

Edit2: WLAN didn't work anymore. The MAC was resetted to 00:90:4c:14:43:19 (the value in nv_4319.txt marked by a dash - I had only replaced de non-dashed entry). I have now changed the two entries to the real MAC.

- There may be a work aroun for that slow reading of the sdcard:

Get this file, connect ur phone to pc, open cmd and do the following:

post-871968-0-23143600-1321271993_thumb.

- My buttons are ok

- If you didn't backup nv files before unlock and you needed to edit manually your mac address then you'll need to do this each time you change ROM, unless you follow this guide.

Note: if you open the file with notepad you'll find a value "2048", imho is the best value for read speed from sdcard, but you can try other values(default is 128).

So it was caused by some bug of cm7 2.5 then?

Yeah, your buttons are in the right order :D. On the Staraddict [Home] and [Menu] are inverted. The [Home] button is in the middle and the [Menu] button on the left.

What bothers me considering the MAC is that it didn't revert to 11:22:33:44:55:66 as it did when I flashed for unlock. It replaced my real MAC-address by the one written after the dash (remed-out) in the nv_4319.txt. That's why I now have written my real MAC on the dashed line.

Edit: OK, I finally got it! Sometimes I really can be slow . The MAC 00:90:4c:14:43:19 was already on the ROM before I flashed it onto my phone.

Oh right your buttons are different :P

Anyway, test that read speed and see if you see any changes.
