Hi, I'm new and i have a Blade with this OS. I have some questions and bugs that you could fix, I hope. The Screen, when I lock the power button didn't do anything and the screen power on 1 minute later more or less. Also the radio didn't work. I hope you fix it and I am your betatester for whatever you want.

Hi first off welcome, second of all this isnt really a good place to start :)

thinks .

radio can't work .and the benchmark shows that GPU do not work.

And... Please tell me your joking right... The gpu isnt even enabled!

It is not for everyday usage.... :huh:

There are a lot of work that needs to be done to get this to working comfortably.

This is a dev thread, not for anyone posting saying they flashed it and expect everything to work.

Quite frankly, its these kind of posts that is starting to p me off with posts like this which is hampering and detracting from the actual DEV THREAD. <_<

Read the ENTIRE thread (And no I will not accept any other excuse!)

:)

Okie... heads up,

Got the telephony going but its crashing somewhat and cause the whole handset to reboot and get stuck in a endless bootloop :D :lol:

Attached here is the init.blade.rc and init.rc in the zip archive, for some eagle eyes to spot... :)

strange. I still dont have rild or rild-debug sockets. are you using alpha3 t0mm13b or your own build?

I thought I read somewhere spn-conf.xml is for cdma phones. I could be wrong

EDIT: im wrong there, spn-conf.xml seems to be in all roms. ill just add it to to the ROM.

anyone know why repacking the boot.img after making changes using the mkbootimg script on the internet wont work. the rom just doesnt boot after I put the new boot.img in. do I have to do something else to make it work?

strange. I still dont have rild or rild-debug sockets. are you using alpha3 t0mm13b or your own build?

I thought I read somewhere spn-conf.xml is for cdma phones. I could be wrong

When you try fix something.. fix every errors and warnings.. and hope =)

Edit:

anyone know why repacking the boot.img after making changes using the mkbootimg script on the internet wont work. the rom just doesnt boot after I put the new boot.img in. do I have to do something else to make it work?

I use Cygwin and commands:

mkbootfs ./ramdisk | gzip > ramdisk-new.gz

mkbootimg --kernel boot.img-kernel --ramdisk ramdisk-new.gz -o boot_new.img --base 0x02600000

On closer inspection, possibly, because the space is at a premium (Am using the 210Mb TPT), had flashed gapps earlier on that I was down to just something like 25Kb left, so something to bear in mind, 210Mb might not be enough ... :D

Or customize the gapps zip for flashing... :)

Thank f..k I backed up a clean ICS install prior to flashing gapps... will try again in a few and report back here :)

Edit:

Attached here is the boot.img that is almost having the telephony going but gets stuck in infinite bootlooping... :)

Tom whats the situ on graphics rendering and stuff JIT enabled? i know there was a issue with hardware graphics (is it sorted?) but IIRC when i did gingerbread asop i pulled and modified some files from nexusone/desire as they use the same chip as us could that be of any use?

See post #407 for your attention xD

Have a funny feeling its to do with this bunch of lines... in init.rc

service ril-daemon /system/bin/rild

    class main

    socket rild stream 660 root radio

    socket rild-debug stream 660 radio system

    user root

    group radio cache inet misc audio sdcard_rw log qcom_oncrpc net_admin net_raw diag

They are experimental, in the boot image, in the post #407, its those that I think could be causing the issue, not 100% sure, just need to play with this experimentation a bit more ... :)

Which gapps do you use? The face unlock Application is 23MB but useless on blade.

I know skywave, I've seen that but that doesn't answer my question. If this is an autonomous project or cooperation with CM team. I'm just curious.

It is autonomous, Tom_G works (as far as i know) independently on CM9, he shared some code on the ics branch of cm, but his device tree is missing atm (there are almost no devices yet in the official cm9 sources).

jackal, the answer is no. its stated in the thread that its a self build to see how far he could get doing a pure aosp build keeping it as clean and unmolested as possible.

:its a development thread so lets leave it to them to do their development stuff. lets not clog it up.

edit. I'm sure tom g and tommi13b are different people no?

One last thing before I call it a night, hope someone could shed some light on this:

I have experimented and I will call this #5. (Have played with various iterations of this init.rc script)

#5.

service ril-daemon /system/bin/rild

    class main

    socket rild stream 660 root radio

    socket rild-debug stream 660 radio system

    user root

    group radio cache inet misc audio sdcard_rw log qcom_oncrpc net_admin net_raw diag

It is that very last line definitely that causes to crash and bootloop! Whereas, with this, #4:

#4

service ril-daemon /system/bin/rild

    class main

    socket rild stream 660 root radio

    socket rild-debug stream 660 radio system

    user root

    group radio cache inet misc audio sdcard_rw log net_admin net_raw qcom_oncrpc diag

Notice the difference, that #5 which is what is in the almost working boot image with telephony that boot loops, with #4 it does not, and telephony not there! Also, with associated #5, I noticed this before it crashes and boot loops, this could be the clue here:

Guys, I found that the people who are developing ICS for the Nexus One have fixed the home button behavior. Since it looks like all phones are having the same problem with the home button, perhaps the fix is universal too, so maybe it's deserved to look at. If the home button is already fixed, sorry I may have missed some posts. If this isn't useful, then sorry again. I'm not a developer so I don't know if this is of any use of not, but I'd like to help anyway I can. And since the Nexus One has Adreno 200 GPU as well as the Blade and they say CM team is working on it, perhaps once they get it working, you can use that too. Anyway, here's the thread of the ROMs thread in xda-developers.

Right, Anyone willing to try out the patchset committed to github that was mentioned in posting #419 on previous page, and use the bootimage from post #407 on previous page again, to see if that resolves the radio telephony from getting b0rk3d up! :) :D

Edit:

Really, its a change in frameworks/base/telephony/java/com/android/internal/telephony/MccTable.java line 248, from this

 if (!country.isEmpty()) {

to

if (country != null && !country.isEmpty()) {

I added an extra checking for the WifiManager found in frameworks/base/wifi/java/android/net/wifi/ line 771, from this:

mService.setCountryCode(country, persist);

to this:

if (country != null) mService.setCountryCode(country, persist);

Errm, yes, it does require a recompile of the entire thing again :rolleyes:
