Stuck on Orange logo

Got my San Francisco 2 today. Installed gmail, real calc, evernote & SMS backup+

Had quite a few forced closes so I rebooted.

Now when I boot I get the green Android logo then the short orange animation. But when the Orange logo is displayed it never gets any further. Left it for an hour. Tried holding power button but it just repeats the sequence as does removing the battery.

Any one else have this problem? It seems to be bricked :-(

If you go through the unlock process should debrick as a side effect.

Thanks for the reply.

Reading through the Unlocking thread it says I need enable USB Debugging but I need to be able to boot to be able to enable USB debugging?

Or don't I need that?

Is there any key combination to do a factory reset on bootup?

Thanks

Try to get into FTM mode (holding volume down - i.e like you would do to get into recovery) if that is ok you can do the QPST and skip the rest.

Don't know a key combo. There is one to put android into safe mode but I don't remember it (Or if it can work on the OSF2).

Yes it does go into FTM mode!

Great I'll give the rest a try now.

Thanks, thought I was going to have to send it back to Orange the day after it arrived. Having factory reset my Blade...

Great it's working again now (with new rom). thanks for your help. Bit strange the stock rom can get into such a state. Think I'll try rebooting inbetween each app I install this time in case it was one of them.

Not for long though :-( worked for a bit last night and this morning but now gets stuck on the android logo whilst booting.

It did get low on space whilst the google account thing tried to re-install all my apps as some were on SD card.

So now unpacked my eBay ready SF and stuck my sim back in it.

What I'm not sure of is this software or maybe an hardware memory fault?

Sounds like hardware. (I have had the same symptoms when my blade battery contacts were not clean).

Try using a stock TPT (Last thing to try before you take it back or better to do anyway)

Tmobile Stock - image.bin (224.53 MB)http://www.multiupload.com/33915YK0WV

Orange UK Stock - image.bin (235.87 MB)http://www.multiupload.com/MIZP11F92Q

(Put into sdcard/image/image.bin)

For orange the keycombo

menu + volume up and power will probably be it - no idea for vivacity.

If you can get into android you can do it from the system->About Phone->Software Update)

Might be easier to fastboot the stock stuff back for the Vivacity.
