"If you are using a retail Galaxy Nexus, you may need to unlock the bootloader first"

How do I know if I have a retail Galaxy Nexus? I bought mine from the Clove online store.

I want to install some custom ROMS, but dont really want to wipe everything... I've just set it up how I like it!!
Thanks

Unfortunately unlocking the handset WILL wipe all data so you'll need to back things up first. I unlocked mine the day I got it before setting things up

Google Nexus 4 (LG-E960)
ROM: CyanogenMod 10.1 (JDQ39E)
Bootloader: MAKOZ10o
Recovery: ClockworkMod Touch 6.0.3.1
Radio: 2.0.1700.48
